Canada-based beauty and home care company Attitude has announced the expansion of its Oceanly Skincare collection with the introduction of Phyto-Sun.
This new line of SPF products continues the company's commitment to eco-friendly and sustainable beauty solutions.
The Phyto-Sun collection features eight new products designed for hybrid sun protection, including a tinted oil, a tinted cream, three shades of lip balms, and a tinted shimmer cream. These products are formulated to be portable and convenient for on-the-go use.
"Attitude is committed to reinventing beauty by raising industry standards through products crafted from clean and high-performance ingredients, presented in eco-innovative packaging aimed at reducing the use of single-use plastic," JF Bernier, co-founder and CEO of Attitude, said in a press release.
The sun protection offered by Phyto-Sun products is mineral-based, using non-nano zinc oxide as the active ingredient. This creates a reflective barrier on the skin, providing broad-spectrum defense against both UVA and UVB rays.
Furthermore, the inclusion of laminaria saccharina and ascophyllum nodosum -- types of algae known for their skin-nourishing properties -- further enhances the protective and hydrating benefits of the products.
Phyto-Sun's Biodegradeable, Plastic-Free Packaging
A significant highlight of the Phyto-Sun line is its packaging. Each product is housed in biodegradable, plastic-free, and FSC-certified cardboard tubes.
These tubes are designed to be thick enough to preserve the formula effectively, and the ink used for the packaging is plant-based.
Additionally, the push-up mechanism of the tubes ensures easy application without direct contact with the product, enhancing both convenience and hygiene.
Attitude's Phyto-Sun products are "EWG verified," which means they meet the strictest standards for health and safety set by the Environmental Working Group. The products are also dermatologically tested and vegan, emphasizing the brand's dedication to clean and high-performance ingredients.
Moreover, the products are free of commonly used chemical sunscreens such as oxybenzone, octinoxate, homosalate, and octisalate, which have been associated with environmental and health concerns.
Phyto-Sun's formulations are enriched with phytoglycogen and a vegan collagen substitute. Phytoglycogen, derived from plants, avoids the need for glycogen extraction from shellfish, thereby helping to preserve marine ecosystems.
The collection, priced between $20 and $45, is available for purchase on Attitude's website, Attitudeliving.com, as well as on Amazon.
