Famous fashion house Acne Studios is dipping its toes into the world of fragrance.
Acne Studios recently announced that it is set to launch its first perfume, called the Acne Studios par Frédéric Malle fragrance. It will be available starting on April 17.
According to a press release, this product is a collaboration between Acne Studios co-founder and creative director Jonny Johansson, Frédéric Malle, and Symrise perfumer Suzy Le Helley. Malle is well-known for creating some seriously iconic scents, like the very viral and well-loved Portrait of a Lady.
The Acne Studios par Frédéric Malle fragrance scent is unisex and created to give the feeling of fresh blooms, laundry, and fruitiness. It has top notes of violet, orange blossom, and pink aldehydes. As you get to the base, it has notes of fuzzy peach and comforting vanilla. The base notes include woodsy notes such as musk, incense, and sandalwood.
Acne had no plans to create a fragrance, but after a series of letters and meetings between Johansson and Malle, the two decided to create one, WWD reported. The back-and-forth between them outlined at least 14 different ideas. Eventually, they decided on the one that most "vibed" with.
For the visual starting point, Le Helley was inspired by Acne Studios' viral and legendary pink scarf. When it came to the scent, she told WWD that "the idea was to have a perfume that was very comfortable, that we wanted to wrap ourselves in."
The 50-milliliter bottle is slated to retail for $295, and the larger 100-milliliter bottle is expected to sell for $470.
You can purchase the Acne Studios par Frédéric Malle fragrance online on both brands' websites or at Editions de Parfums Frédéric Malle and Acne Studios stores.
