There is nothing that feels quite as good as walking into a room and having everyone tell you how good you smell. Sure, you can go for some super popular scent that everyone will be wearing, but you could also find something something unique and fun from one of these indie perfume brands.
Here are some of our favorite indie brands to help find your perfect scent.
Arielle Shoshana
This is a super viral and well-known brand and store. The boutique is located in Washington, D.C., and was founded in 2015. It was created as a place for people to find rare, niche, and hard-to-find fragrances. The brand also has its own line of scents that you've probably seen all over your For You Page.
The brand's in-house line is named after the days of the week, so if you're looking for a different scent every day, this is a great place to shop. We think all are great, but we love the Sunday scent. Firstly, it's in the most incredible blue and green packaging, so it can be a scent to display. The fragrance was created to bring serenity to you, with notes of matcha and rice milk as well as a touch of warm spices and amber.
Confessions of a Rebel
This brand is heavily inspired by being yourself in every sense of the word. Confessions of a Rebel focuses on products that are vegan and cruelty-free. It is worth pointing out that this brand makes scents that are gender-fluid and unisex. It has been around since 2018 and was created as a response to the boringness of the perfume industry.
The packaging for its fragrances are super cool, and we're obsessed with the names of the scents. One of its best-sellers is a scent called Get A Room. Other than the name, we love its fruity and woodsy scent. It has notes of apple, orange, vanilla, and a touch of spice.
Sunday Forever
Sunday Forever is a New York City-based brand that was founded in 2016. The products were inspired by coziness and comfort. The brand has products beyond scents, such as fashion and lifestyle offerings. The founder of the brand is named Ashli Stockton, and she created it after wanting something different. This brand is also vegan, non-toxic, and cruelty-free.
Sunday Forever offers a lot of incredible scents, but we want to talk about its Coconut perfume. We love this because it has notes of warm florals like vanilla flowers and yellow orchids with coconut. It also has touches of citrus zest.
D.S. & Durga
This is another NYC-based brand that is 100% vegan and cruelty-free. It is not tested on animals. The brand was founded by David Seth Moltz (D.S.), a self-taught perfumer, and Kavi Ahuja Moltz (Durga), an architect, who have very different backgrounds. The brand was inspired by imaginary landscapes and myths, as well as art, music, nature, and designs.
The scent we want to tell you about is its Rose Atlantic, which was inspired by summer at the beach and rose. We love this scent because it combines some of our favorite things: the ocean, roses, their leaves, and summertime.
