Freckles, which people can have in different spots on the body, have felt like an imperfection for those who have them.

But last year, the trend of putting fake freckles on the face using makeup products blew up on TikTok and continues to gain popularity. 

Several cosmetic brands have released products that can give you natural-looking freckles.

Freckle Pen

Freck Beauty launched a freckle pen in 2017 to make adding natural-looking, long-lasting faux freckles to the skin simple and easy. The pen comes in light-medium and medium-dark shades and has a thin tip for easy application.

The tool has become a go-to for those wanting to join the fake freckle trend and can be found in Sephora or on the Freck Beauty site.

Brands such as Colourpop and Tarte Cosmetics have also jumped on the trend, selling their version of the freckle pen.

Brow Pencil

You don't need to buy a freckle pen to achieve this look.

If you want to try faux freckles using products you already own, you can use your brow pencil. The color of your brow pencil usually matches your hair and eyebrows, so the fake freckles you create will come off natural-looking.

In addition, brow pencils tend to be soft, so using it to apply the dots on your nose and cheeks will give you a natural look.

All you have to do is take your brow pencil and lightly tap it around your nose and cheek areas. Apply as many as you would like.

Self-Tanner

Another way to get natural-looking faux freckles is by using self-tanner.

Once your foundation is set, dip your eyebrow spoolie in the self-tanner and dab it across the forehead, nose, and cheeks.

After one to four hours of the self-tanner developing, rinse your face and pat it dry. Expect to see freckles that look like you've had them your whole life. 

Eyeliner

Another easy at-home trick is to use a liquid eyeliner, as it comes with a thin tip and can create a mess-free look.

Simply take your eyeliner, whether brown or black is up to you, and start creating the dots on all the spots the sun would naturally kiss your skin.

Some women prefer doing only a couple on their nose and cheeks, but if you want a face full of freckles, apply many dots all over the main areas of your face.

A trick to try with eyeliner is to dab some setting spray on the faux freckles using your finger so they don't chip or fade away.
