Lionel Messi poses with his Laureus World Sportsman of the Year 2023 award during the Winners Walk at the 2023 Laureus World Sport Awards Paris at Cour Vendome on May 08, 2023 in Paris, France.
Soccer icon Lionel Messi is set to launch his inaugural fragrance, Messi Fragrance, at the Cosmoprof North America trade show in Miami, Florida, next month.
Messi will unveil details about the fragrance's creation, from its perfumer to its notes and ingredients, at Cosmoprof North America Miami.
This announcement places Messi among a cohort of brands making their debut at Cosmoprof North America this year, underscoring the trade show's allure for both established and emerging entities in the beauty and cosmetics sphere.
Cosmoprof North America, which describes itself as the leading business-to-business beauty trade show in the Americas, will feature over 600 exhibiting brands during its Miami edition.
The three-day exhibition will be held at the Miami Beach Convention Center from Jan. 23 to 25.
Messi teamed up with Game On Product Group for his fragrance, which will feature a bespoke scent, stylish bottle and packaging.
The company, along with Australian retail launch partner Chemist Warehouse, will distribute the soccer superstar's fragrance globally under his Messi brand when it is released later in 2024.
"We are incredibly excited and honored to work with Messi and his team on this huge project," Game On Product Group managing directors Daryl Czarny and Elliot Rubenstein stated.
"Leo is the greatest of all time in the football world, but he truly transcends his sport -- he is now one of the most admired and well-known humans on the planet," they added. "This program and its launch will be huge for everyone involved, we intend to make this the greatest fragrance launch of all time."
The partnership also includes body wash, deodorants, body sprays, gift sets and other products Messi plans to release under his brand.
"I have always been passionate about fragrance and I am very excited to work closely with the team at Game On to produce my very-own signature scent," Messi said in a press release. "We will create a fragrance that is truly unique and inspirational for all fans around the world."
Messi joins the growing list of celebrities who have released fragrances in recent years. Beyoncé, Ariana Grande, and Millie Bobby Brown launched new fragrances earlier this year.
Messi is slated to visit Hong Kong alongside Inter Miami CF for a singular exhibition match on Feb. 4. He will lead his team in a clash against a handpicked lineup of Hong Kong's premier athletes from the First Division League.
