Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray revealed that she did her own glam for her hosting stint at this year's coronation night.
On Tuesday, Gray posted on Instagram a "get ready with me" video showing her doing her makeup and offering a glimpse into her preparation for the recently concluded 72nd Miss Universe pageant in El Salvador, where she served as a backstage host.
"Miss Independent [heart emoji]. [D]id my own glam for @missuniverse and super proud of how it came out. Thank you @jellyeugenio and @paulnebres for the approval [heart emoji] bahahaha," she captioned the video.
Though not a formal tutorial, fans can follow her makeup routine to achieve a camera-ready look for their own special events.
The 29-year-old model first applied some skincare products, the Cetaphil Bright Healthy Radiance toner and serum. She followed this up with a lip oil from Strokes Beauty Lab before applying the Milk Hydro Grip Primer on her face.
After her skin preparation, Gray used the Studio Radiance foundation from Mac Cosmetics.
"I'm gonna do a much more full coverage beat than you guys are accustomed to seeing me doing," Gray explained.
The singer proceeded to use the Forever Skin Correct concealer from Dior Beauty, noting that she chose this concealer to address some acne breakouts. She then dabbed on the Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder to set the concealer under her eyes.
Afterward, she grabbed her Makeup by Mario Soft Sculpt Shaping Stick and applied some on her forehead and cheekbones.
"This is makeup for heavy lights, so I'm going quite heavy-handed," she said before setting everything with Dior Beauty face powder.
Moving on to her eye makeup, she began with the Sunnies Face Eyecrayon in the shade Teddy, a deep, rich brown color. Gray applied a generous amount on her lids before skillfully blending it out.
For the eyeliner, she opted for Make Up For Ever's Aqua Resist Color Pencil Eyeliner in Graphite to craft a striking wing atop her eyes. She mentioned that this product doesn't smudge.
Gray also applied it along her lower lash line before reaching for her Shiseido liquid eyeliner to create a precise line along her inner corners.
She finished her eyeshadow look with a touch of shimmer using the aZTK Glitter Liquid Eyeshadow.
The beauty queen went on to apply lash primer and coat her lashes with a black waterproof mascara from KissMe Philippines, a trick she recommended to achieve a long-lasting effect.
Afterward, she used a brow pen from Strokes and a spoolie to comb her brows. She also set her brows with Paulash lash glue.
Following this, Gray grabbed a brush and contoured the bridge of her nose, her cheekbones, the sides of her forehead, and jaw using Issy & Co.'s contour in Storm. She also used a bronzer from the same brand.
For the blush, she used the Patrick Ta She's Sincere blush because she wanted the blush to be "neutral."
She then put on two fake lashes from Faboulash on each eye to add more boldness and "drama" to the look.
Gray mattified the center of her face using the Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Powder before applying some highlighter from Dior Beauty.
Finally, for her lips, she chose the Terracotta Lip Liner by Huda Beauty and the Feminist Demi Matte Cream Lipstick from the same brand.
