There's no denying that there's been a drastic change in Meghan Markle's makeup look after she officially joined the royal family in May 2018.
Back when she was still with the legal drama series "Suits," the former actress often sports her go-to red carpet glam featuring dark smokey eyes as she goes experimental with her lip colors, varying from ultra-fleshy nudes to vampy bold reds.
At the time, the California native liked her brunette tresses in a mussed-up side part.
Interestingly, one of the Firm's many protocols includes donning full glam makeup, but instead, royal ladies need to opt for a subtle glam look.
According to multiple reports, it is a big no-no to the royal family to be photographed wearing heavy makeup that includes false eyelashes, smokey eyes, and winged eyeliners.
With this, the royal ladies usually wear a bit of blush, neutral eyeshadow, eye mascara, and a light lip color since a heavy glam look is considered a sign of distaste.
Meghan Markle's Oprah Interview
As for the Duchess of Sussex, fans think that Meghan Markle's makeup look sends a subtle message to the viewers.
After CBS released a 13-minute teaser of their highly-anticipated interview with the couple's longtime friend, Oprah Winfrey, the public is pointing out the uncanny resemblance of the former royal's eye makeup to the Princess of Wales' bombshell interview.
To recall, Princess Diana's 1995 interview with Martin Bashir sent the media into a frenzy after delivering her infamous line, "There were three of us in this marriage, so it was a bit crowded," referring to Prince Charles' relationship with Camilla Parker Bowles.
At the time, the late princess broke the royal tradition as she was filmed wearing a dark eyeliner full lining the eyes.
The same goes with the Duchess of Sussex, who was spotted in almost the same look as she discussed their post royal life and their decision to step back from their roles as senior royals.
Meaning Behind Princess Diana and Meghan Markle's Bold Eye Makeup
Beauty expert Zoe Cripps recently shared to "Pod Save the Queen" podcast her thoughts about Meghan Markle's new look.
She explained that the 39-year-old duchess appears to be "making a statement" with her heavy makeup look.
"She looks very different, just in terms of her beauty look, looking straight at that. She has gone very bold with her eye makeup, she's got lashings of liner, heavy black coal it looks like, maybe some eyelash extensions ‒ very LA cool, I would say, compared to her fresh look that she used to wear," she mentioned, as obtained by Express UK.
Moreover, she also pointed out the resemblance between the two former royals--Princess Diana and Meghan Markle.
"Now, it might be a bit of stretch, but if you take a look on Twitter at the moment, a lot of people are discussing the similarities between Meghan's makeup here and the makeup Princess Diana wore to her interview, the bombshell one in 1995," she furthered.
The same goes with royals expert and founder of Beaumont Etiquette Myka Meier, who told Glamour that the "Suits" alum's makeup is a sign of empowerment and breaking free from the royal family.
Moreover, she also added that it reflects Markle's "pre royal lifestyle."
