Taraji P. Henson joined the celebrity beauty brand bandwagon last year with her haircare line, TPH by Taraji. Vogue recalls TPH by Taraji started with 18 haircare products and everything was affordable at less than $15 for each product. Now she adds four new products to TPH by Taraji. The IntenseMoisture + Care collection is the latest to her already impressive product line.

While Henson's first collection was well-rounded with color-coded scalp care and cleansing, moisturizing, and styling products, the IntenseMoisture + Care collection is more focused on hydration and styling essentials for type 3 and type 4 hair. Type 3 hair is classified into three categories. 3A curls are large and loose and according to Allure, are the size of a sidewalk chalk. 3B curls are more springy and are closer to the circumference of a Sharpie pen and 3C curls are tight corkscrews with the circumference of a straw or pencil. As for Type 4 hair, it's coily and kinky and can be very dry and spongy. Type 4 is also classified into three categories with A being the most loosely coiled and C as the tightest. Henson tells Byrdie that her natural hair texture is "borderline 4C" and adds that her hair gets extremely dry and is "very, very dense."

IntenseMoisture + Care Collection

Mask On

Mask On is described as a moisturizing conditioning mask to hydrate, revive and strengthen curly and coily hair. Because of their shape, natural hair oils from the scalp don't travel down Type 3 and Type 4 hair easily and they tend to be very dry and brittle and can easily break. This deep conditioner is infused with mango seed butter and coconut oil to soothe the scalp and nourish and condition the hair. Leave on for 10 to 30 minutes or put on a heated hair cap for 30 minutes for an even deeper conditioning. Henson tells People that you can even leave it on all day and it will not drip.  

Curls 4 Days

Curls 4 Days is a lightweight curl cream that will hydrate, define, and hold curls without the icky feeling.  It has tucuma butte to add moisture and shine, plus pequi oil that's rich in essential fatty acids to reduce frizz and add vitality.

Twist and Set

Twist and Set is a moisturizing twisting cream with strengthening and smoothing avocado oil, moisturizing coconut oil and moringa oil to hydrate the scalp and hair follicles. This is ideal for styling twists and braids.

Keep Shining

Keeping Shining is a lightweight dry oil mist that adds intense shine with shea butter, pequi oil, sweet almond oil and apricot seed oil. It also has UV defense to protect color-treated hair.
