Minimalist Nail Design
Since women can't express themselves with makeup, some diverted their attention to having head-turning nails, covered with loud designs. From animal print inspired designs to the magical, color-shifting mood nails, it feels like the 2020 trend is more on the eclectic side. Unfortunately, celebrity nail artist Mo Qin shared to WhoWhatWear.com that 3D manicure "will lose steam in 2021" because it is hard to maintain--most especially the cleaning and removing part. Instead, she mentioned that nail trends 2021 are leaning towards the minimal side with muted colors and minimal graphics. "I love minimalist nail art. It's clean, classy, and chic," she explained, adding, "It's also a great way to play around with shapes and lines in a subtle way. I enjoy adding simple accents like triangles or dots."
Velvet Nails
Velvet is not just for the holidays, and it is now becoming the latest obsession in the nail department.
According to Glosslab founder Rachel Apfel Glass, as obtained by Brydie.com, Velvet manicures is having a major comeback this 2021 and this time, it's all about textures.
"Velvet has seen a resurgence in the fashion space, so naturally we would see that trend make its way into nails," she mentioned. Aside from this, having velvet nails can add sparkle to your everyday look.

Press-On Nails
Say goodbye to those thick acrylic nails and hello chic press-on nails. Unlike the previous trend, opting for this can give you that classy, professional-looking nails in just minutes.
Aside from the fact that it is easy to use, press-on nails won't hurt your budget since it only costs below $10.
Short Nail Design
Another nail trend that is saying goodbye this year are the coffin nails. Instead, short nails are new in this 2021.
Varying from oval, rounded, ballerina, almond, and square-rounded, having it neat and natural is considered the biggest nail trend this year.
Retro Nail Art
For those on the adventurous and playful side who will never consider having minimalist nails, retro nails will also become the new thing in 2021.
