Elle Magazine has recruited several beauty experts to help them wade through more than 600 product submissions for their 2020 Future of Beauty Awards. Together with top dermatologists, celebrity makeup artists, hair experts, facialists, beauty bloggers, and their own beauty editors, Elle reviewed 647 innovative beauty products to come up with the worthy winners. It's a pretty long list so here are some of the buzziest items that made it!

Skincare

Supergoop! Glowscreen Sunscreen SPF 40

Every dermatologist will stress the importance of sun protection. Dermatologist Dr. Caroline Robinson says wearing this sunscreen is "fun" thanks to its bronzy and pearlescent finish that you can even ditch makeup altogether. This would be a good addition to your winter arsenal.

Opulus Beauty Labs Activator Kit

Just like inserting a coffee pod in your Nespresso machine, you insert a pod called an "opoule" into your Opulus Activator. It then blends your chosen treatment (options include hyaluronic acid, retinol, and vitamin C) to activate the ingredients. You'll end up with a whipped-cream-like consistency that will surely be a luxurious treat to spread on the skin.

Function of Beauty Custom Facial Cleanser

Function of Beauty is known for custom haircare but in 2020, the brand launched its custom skincare. As always, you start with a quiz on their official website. You get asked your skin type, skin goals, fragrance preference, and a name for your custom skincare line. At the end of the quiz, Function of Beauty presents you with your custom skincare regimen that includes a three-step skincare routine. According to Elle, there are over 3 billion unique possibilities and formulas. How cool is that?

Skin Treatments

Dieux Skin Forever Eye Mask

Single-use sheet masks will soon be obsolete, and Dieux Skin is leading the way in the reusable category. The Forever Eye Mask can be used with any eye cream, serum, or gel. Simply put it over your favorite eye treatment and with the help of physics, it will seal in the product for ultimate absorption. Rinse it off afterward and store them until your next use. Elle says that you'll be using this eye mask forever.

Endo Aesthetics QWO

QWO is the first and only FDA-approved injectable for the treatment of cellulite. At the moment, it's approved for use on the buttocks and the results can last for a few years. QWO is injected into the fibrous connective tissue called "fibrous septae," which is what draws the skin downward and causing those dreaded dimples. Multiple sessions are usually needed, and bruising is part of the side effects so dermatologist Dr. Shereene Edris suggests starting the procedure in the late Fall.

Hair

Pattern Jojoba Oil Hair Serum Self-Heating Packs

Once you open the pack of this oil serum, it starts the heating process using oxygen-triggered technology. The higher temperature helps open up the hair cuticle, so the treatment becomes more intensive.

Revitalash Cosmetics Volume Enhancing Foam

Elle reports that in 2019, more than two million people went in for hair loss treatments. This reformulated volumizing foam now has palm oil, biotin, lipids, and panthenol. A third-party consumer study states that 94 percent of participants saw a massive improvement in four weeks.

Makeup

Opte Precision System

This handheld inkjet printer dispenser makeup. A sensor detects skin discolorations and deposits a serum formulated with niacinamide, propylene glycol, and mineral pigments in microdrops through hair-sized nozzles. It uses 97 percent less product than applying a face-full of foundation as it's designed to camouflage rather than match the skin.

Orly Color Labs

Through your uploaded photos, Orly Color Labs will create a custom color for you. For instance, if you're frustrated with finding the right nude shade of nail polish, upload a photo or schedule a Zoom meeting so you can customize a shade that's perfectly flattering to your skin tone.
