After the tireless debates on how she'll appear on her big day, the public finally saw Meghan Markle's look. Now, her hairstylist spills the details on her royal wedding look.
The fanfare continues a day after Markle and Prince Harry's wedding. Many noticed how the former Suits actress looked effortlessly beautiful as she walked down the aisle, but moreover, many lauded her for her simplicity, which was evident on the choice of her dress and 'do.
This might be why people won't be surprised to find out that her look only took 45 minutes to make, as per her wedding hairstylist Serge Normant. He is known for styling the locks of big names in the biz, such as Sarah Jessica Parker and Julia Roberts.
Markle's Messy, Loose Bun
People shouldn't get this wrong. Markle's hairstyle took less than an hour to make, but that doesn't mean it was done like so because they ran out of time. Normant admitted he was not a fan of overdoing things, all the more in this very special event.
He's not to be judged as well. After all, the 36-year-old's low, messy bun is a nod to what Markle has been known for: her simplicity. Normant explained that everything was easy-breezy because his muse made everything seemed "light and easy."
"It's a messy bun, we call it. Messy in a controlled way. I don't overload the hair with products in general and certainly not on this day," he explained.
Markle's wedding hairstyle was met with a lot of criticisms, with people saying the bun was too loose, but with Normant's explanation, the bride's intended look was really a messy 'do, which everyone can easily copy with hairpins only being the key element to keep everything in place.
Markle's wedding look was inspired by the timeless style icon Audrey Hepburn. Normant stressed that he opted for iconic looks, hence the loose bun. His decision is not entirely out of the blue, as it was even a nod to the bride's dress.
Many noted how Markle's wedding dress was very reminiscent of Hepburn's, so the hairstyle totally complemented her overall wedding look. On the hairstylist's revelation, it is also important to highlight how the former actress values simplicity.
Her Givenchy wedding dress designed by Clare Waight Keller also spoke of simplicity, as well as her barely there makeup. Taking front and center, Markle's hairstyle, look, and dress didn't steal the show from what truly was special during the day: her tying the knot with Prince Harry.
