Dave Franco and Alison Brie are officially married in a private ceremony. The news came after over a year of engagement and more than three years of dating.
Representatives of both Franco and Brie confirmed their nuptials with People, but very few details were released. In fact, there were no wedding photos circulating the internet yet. No one is also sure when exactly they tied the knot and where.
International Business Times noted that the pair was very private about their relationship. They were rarely photographed together despite being under media scrutiny. The 31-year-old Franco and his 34-year-old bride met at a Mardi Gras parade in New Orleans in 2011, but they didn't begin dating until early 2012.
Three years later, in August 2015, Franco popped the question to Brie with an impressive ring made by Southern California jewelry designer Irene Neuwirth. It was a one-of-a-kind gold set with a rose-cut diamond on a diamond pave.
While the couple remained tight-lipped about their plans, Dave Franco did drop hints of having a low-key wedding. In an interview last year, he was asked whether or not his brother, James, would be his best man. He shared that if he does eventually get married, they will not "do a lot of the traditions and we're just gonna make it easy and who knows?" He even went on to say that they were "lax about the whole planning," and even seemed interested on the possibility of eloping with Alison Brie.
Alison Brie did not think getting married was in her stars. She hinted in an interview back in 2016 that marriage did not interest her as she was focused mainly on her work and didn't see the point to it. However, she admitted that Dave Franco did change her mind about her stance on being a bride. She believed that she had "met that person" whom she wanted to grow old with.
