Emma Freud, producer of the short film "Red Nose Day Actually" shared the first look of Hugh Grant reprising his character of a British Prime Minister David from "Love Actually". The 2003 romantic comedy by Richard Curtis won millions of heart worldwide, and now Freud comes up with the short film sequel and recently posted some pictures on her Twitter page.
One of the photos had Hugh Grant performing the duties of a PM, which she captioned, "And here he is. Our Prime Minister. Again and still hot." She also stated that Grant's character is still married to Natalie (Martine McCutcheon) who is still very lovely, reports Independent.
According to US Magazine, the sequel promises to reunite much of the ensemble cast from the original film that includes Keira Knightley, Liam Neeson, Colin Firth, Thoma Brodie-Sangster, Bill Nighy, Rowan Atkinson and Andrew Lincoln, who will come together after 14 years. Martin Freeman, Emma Thompson, Laura Linney and late Alan Rickman are the ones not returning for the mini sequel.
In an interview, Richard Curtis, writer and director of the original film and who will also be directing the sequel, said that he never dreamed of writing a sequel of the "Love Actually, but it would be fun to do a 10-minute short." "We wish to make something, which will be fun and true to the spirit of the original film," said Curtis. He also expressed his delight and gratefulness of most of the cast, who agreed to come upon for the sequel and said it would be a nostalgic moment to reunite with the lovely team and characters after 14 years.
According to Deadline, the sequel is made in support of Comic Relief's Red Nose Day fundraiser and will air on March 24 on BBC one and will broadcast as part of NBC's Red Nose Day Special on May 25.
