Eddie Murphy in "Beauty and the Beast"? Not exactly, but just because the comedian couldn't fit in a role in the much-awaited movie, it doesn't mean that creatives can't imagine what it would be like if he were.
Comic Book noted that a new video from Aldos Jones - editor behind hilarious "Weird Trailer" videos just unleashed a new, hilarious video called "Eddie Murphy and the Beast," which obviously put the comedian in the live-action version of the beloved film's trailer.
The spoof contains footage and audio from several Murphy films, including "Trading Places," "Beverly Hills Cop," "Coming to America," 'The Nutty Professor," and "Bowfinger." Jones's video made it seem like Emma Watson's Belle is falling in love with the 55-year-old, although her love in return will lift his box office curse, not turn him into a handsome prince.
"Beauty and the Beast" will arrive in theaters on March 17, but it hasn't been without controversies. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Watson said she is aware of the critiques of the plot, including the possibility of Belle having Stockholm Syndrome, which shouldn't sit well, considering that the UN Spokesperson is a vocal women's advocate and feminist. However, Watson shared that Belle has none of the characteristics as someone with Stockholm Syndrome, as she does keep her independence and freedom of thought throughout the film.
As for the change in Belle's character (they turned the bookworm into an inventor for the live-action film), director Bill Condon said he decided to remake the film into a more distinguished Belle 25 years after the animated film, into a 21st century heroine by "adding levels of psychology and nuance," and by "updating" the heroine.
"Beauty and the Beast" stars Watson as Belle, Dan Stevens as the Beast, Luke Evans as Gaston, and Oscar Winner Kevin Kline as Belle's father, Maurice. The rest of the cast is as star-studded, boasting of talents that include Ewan McGregor, Stanley Tucci, Josh Gad, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Audra McDOnald, Ian McKellen, and Emma Thompson.
