Sexism against FLOTUS, Melania Trump was the last thing that London-born model, Emily Ratajkowski wanted to hear from a journalist, in private or in public. In fact, the 25-year-old actress voiced out her support for Melania on social media after she allegedly heard a New York Times journalist her a "hooker."
Ratajkowski, who according to BBC News appeared in Robin Thicke's 'Blurred Lines' music video, said that such comments were "disgusting," equating sexism against FLOTUS to slut-shaming. "Whatever your politics it's crucial to call this out for what it is: slut shaming. I don't care about her nudes or sexual history and no one should," she said in a series of tweets.
Donald Trump's wife did not leave this defense unrecognized. In response to the model's tirade regarding sexism against FLOTUS, she tweeted, "Applause to all women around the world who speak up, stand up and support other women!"
Model-turned-actress Ratajkowski has long been a defender of women's right to dress as they choose. Fox News reported that she was not amused when Tim Gunn of the "Project Runway" fame called one of her red carpet looks in 2016 "appallingly vulgar."
In fact, she also tweeted in retaliation back then. "Women choosing when and how they want to share their sexuality and bodies," A pinned tweet on her Twitter page read.
Now that she is experiencing a growing scrutiny over her new role as First Lady, the Independent UK noted reported that Melania finally hit back at her critics in a short address during a rally in Florida on Saturday, saying that she will always be "true to herself" and to the rest of the Americans.
"I will act in the best interest of all of you. I am committed to creating and supporting initiatives dear to my heart, which will have an impact on women and children all around the world," she added.
