It's official: Cody Simpson and Gigi Hadid have called it quits once again.
E! Online reports that the former couple have confirmed the news of their breakup in a statement from the model's rep, admitting that they both need to focus on their respective careers.
"Cody and Gigi want each other to be in a place right now that allows him to only focus on his music, fans, and new message, while she can focus and continue building her career," Hadid's rep told the site, adding, "They love each other dearly and have split up in hopes that growing on their own paths will bring them together in the future."
The statement ended, "They remain friends with no hard feelings and each other's biggest supporters."
Perhaps the impending split wasn't as much of a surprise as fans believed, Simpson admitted in a recent interview that both he and his then-girlfriend are very busy and often struggle with their conflicting schedules, however, the singer admits that both he and Hadid try and make it work.
"We see each other more than you would expect because we're dedicated to making it work and it's not too stressful," he told HuffPost Live, noting, "We try to stay in a bit. We try to stay out of [the spotlight]."
Only weeks ago, Simpson's sister, Alli Simpson, revealed in an interview that she loves her brother's girlfriend and could see the duo getting married in the future.
"I mean honestly right now it seems like they will! I'm the one that's like just get married already, it's ridiculous. They are so adorable. They bring out the best in each other."
The duo previously split in May 2014, citing scheduling conflicts as the reason for their split then as well.
"We're still best friends and I'll always respect him and support his career," Hadid revealed after their breakup. "I love Cody to death and he loves me," she concluded.
