Ariana Grande and Big Sean officially called it quits after eight months of dating. Sean and Grande's representatives exclusively confirmed the break up rumors to US Weekly, Monday.
Rumors have been swirling that Justin Bieber, who got too handsy with the "Break Free" singer during her Honeymoon Tour, was the reason why they split up.
According to texts circulating related to the breakup, Big Sean got mad and called Grande a sl*t.
"He's pissed. He gets that they're performing and all that, but he did not like the way Justin was touching Ariana," a source exclusively told Hollywood Life. "He thinks he's way too cocky and needs to be taken down a notch."
An insider close to the two said that the couple quietly ended their relationship a few weeks ago.
"They both deeply care for each other and remain close friends," the source stated.
"They made the decision to part ways because their conflicting touring schedules would keep them apart over the next year," the source added.
Nothing much was said about the breakup. Only that, in a joint statement, Sean and Grande's reps asked the media to respect their wish for privacy at this time.
It's hard to believe that this hollywood romance is finally over when not too long ago, they proudly expressed their love for each other on social media sites.
"Just know that I love u and I care for ya," Sean (@BigSean) tweeted April 4.
Grande (@ArianaGrande) then tweeted back, "love u babes the most. you just can't imagine."
The 21-year-old pop star confirmed, after months of speculation, that she's dating the 27-year-old Roc Nation artist in Oct. 2014. Since then, the power couple had been showing off their relationship in public.
Sean, who will be busy touring starting this summer, was asked about how their romance blossomed and he said that they started out as friends, E! News learned.
"But that was the thing. It progressed from there, and that's the first time I've ever been in a situation where we started as friends and it progressed, so that's what it is," Sean shared.
Meanwhile, Grande just wrapped up her tour in North America. The Honeymoon concert will pick up in Europe this September.
