Actor and comedian Russell Brand and musician Diplo both expressed their support for Katy Perry before the singer took the stage for the "Super Bowl" halftime show, according to Us Weekly.
Brand tweeted a message of encouragement to his ex-wife Perry, saying, "Super Bowl may be baffling but half time show will be amazing. Good luck KP."
Diplo, who is rumored to have been dating Perry, shared his own supportive message via the app PHHOTO, saying, "@Katyperry murdered it."
Perry and Brand were married for 14 months before the two divorced in 2012. In an interview with Marie Claire in December 2013, Perry commented on the end of her marriage saying, "There were two weeks of my life after I found out the truth of my marriage where I was like, Okay. All right. I can't feel this. This is too intense right now."
No official word has been given on the status of Diplo's relationship with Perry, Hollywood Life reported. Diplo was in Phoenix for the Super Bowl and for Perry's halftime performance.
Perry appeared onstage with guests over the course of her halftime performance. The singer brought out rock legend Lenny Kravitz and hip-hop icon Missy Elliott as she performed.
She opened the performance arriving on the back of a mechanical lion, wearing an outfit designed with flames and her hair done up into a ponytail. The singer then performed a mash-up of her songs while going through four costume changes. Perry's entire performance lasted for 12-and-a-half minutes, the Mirror reported.
Perry was mum about any guest performers joining her onstage in a press conference prior to the event. First word about the special guests was let out by last year's "Super Bowl" halftime performer Bruno Mars, who tweeted, "Sending love to @katyperry @LennyKravitz and @MissyElliott! Y'all kill it tonight! Can't wait!"
