Hacking has been plaguing Hollywood for the past few months now, and this time the target is Taylor Swift, who found her Twitter and Instagram accounts compromised on Tuesday, The Huffington Post reported.
The hacked tweets and posts have been deleted around 15 minutes after they were posted, but news outlets were able to get screenshots of them.
The user goes by the name @Lizzard and he or she claimed to be the leader of hacker group Lizard Squad and a member of groups such as Anonymous, LulzSec, ISISGang, globalHell, zfo, GoD and more. The account has since been suspended.
Only minimal damages seemed to have occurred as the posts were quickly deleted. It seemed like all the hackers did was ask Swift's fans to follow the @Lizzard account, as well as another who goes by @veriuser. However, Swift has the fourth most followed account on Twitter with over 50 million followers, making this probably the biggest hack attack in the history of Twitter so far, according to Rolling Stone.
Fans need not fear though as Swift managed to recover her accounts thanks to the help of Twitter personnel and got new passwords.
She didn't forget to send a shout out to the hackers though, and tweeted, "Cause the hackers gonna hack, hack, hack, hack, hack..."
Swift also responded to the hackers' threats that they have nude photos of her. They claimed that they have stolen the photos and would release them unless paid in Bitcoins, according to The Verge.
Swift fired back, tweeting, "PS any hackers saying they have 'nudes'? Psssh you'd love that wouldn't you! Have fun photoshopping cause you got NOTHING."
Apparently, the singer was on vacation and asleep at the time of the hack, but she was alerted to the matter by close friend Haley Williams.
Swift tweeted her thanks to the Paramore singer, saying, "I'd like to acknowledge the MVP of the day @yelyahwilliams, for being the first to text me about the hack this morning. #FriendshipGoals."
