Having Maroon 5 performing at your wedding would be a great way to top off a special day.
This is exactly the case for several unsuspecting couples who tied the knot on Dec. 6, 2014 when Maroon 5, led by Adam Levine, crashed their Los Angeles weddings and performed the latest single off their "V" album.
The band shared the reactions of the unsuspecting couples who got one heck of a wedding gift in the music video of "Sugar."
“December 6, 2014, we’re going to drive across L.A. and hit every wedding we possibly can, and it’s going to be awesome!” Levine, Maroon 5’s lead singer, tells the camera at the beginning of the video.
The band and their crew then drive off in convertibles around L.A. to find weddings to crash.
In the video directed by David Dobkin — the same director of the romantic comedy “Wedding Crashers” — Maroon 5 snuck past wedding guests and hid behind a big white curtain.
Brides and groomes were then given the shock of their lives when the curtain dropped down, revealing the Grammy Award-winning band. The newlyweds screamed and cheered while their wedding guests jumped up and ran to the dance floor.
It wasn't easy to pull off such a daring stunt, according to Levine, who admitted in an interview with Entertainment Tonight that wedding crashing was "stressful" to arrange and work out.
But their efforts seemed to have paid off in the end as the newlyweds appeared more than happy to have Maroon crash their big day and perform at their reception.
“It was a lot of fun. It felt good to kind of surprise these people and make them happy,” the Maroon 5 lead singer told ET's Kevin Frazier of making the music video.
"Happy that they liked our band too. It would have been a total disaster [if not]," he added.
Well, Levine has more than enough experience with weddings himself, as the "Voice" judge tied the knot with Victoria's Secret model Behati Prinsloo July last year.
Along with hit singles "Maps," "Animals" and "It Was Always You," “Sugar” is featured on Maroon 5’s latest album “V,” which was released in September.
