Yaya DaCosta and hubby Joshua Bee Alafia have decided to end their marriage after two years of being husband and wife, Us Weekly has learned.
The 32-year-old "American's Next Top Model" runner-up has officially parted ways from Alafia, according to her rep.
While the main reason of their split was not revealed, sources say DaCosta was too busy and preoccupied preparing for her big break in the upcoming Whitney Houston biopic that is set to air next month on Lifetime.
On Friday, DaCosta made the subtle move of confirming her breakup by putting a selfie on Instagram in which she is noticeably missing her wedding ring.
"When dinner was so good you couldn't keep your jeans buttoned," she captioned the snap where she could be seen showing off her stomach.
The day before, she also made another hint when she shared a snap of a statement that read: "The more you love your decisions, the less you need others to love them."
The "All My Children" actress and the independent filmmaker reportedly tied the knot in Pennsylvania on June 26, 2012.
A year later - specifically in September 2013 - DaCosta gave birth to their first son, Sankara. Despite being hands-on as a mother, the actress-model managed to star in Lee Daniels' 2013 flick "The Butler," alongside Forest Whitaker, Robin Williams and Jane Fonda, among others.
Despite losing to Eva Marcille in the third season of The CW's ANTM, Yaya managed to build a name of her own in Hollywood by acting in "The Young And The Restless," "House Of Payne" and "The Kids Are All Right," among others.
She also made a commendable portrayal of Vanessa William's daughter in "Ugly Betty" named Nico Slater, reports Daily Mail.
As of late, she is busy working for the upcoming 2016 film "The Nice Guys," where she is to act opposite Ryan Gosling and Russell Crowe.
Lifetime's Whitney Houston biopic is set to air on Jan. 17, 2015 at 8/7c. It marks the directorial debut of "American Horror Story" actress Angela Bassett, who worked with the late diva in the 1995 film "Waiting to Exhale," according to People.
