This week, we honor classic beauty, Mariska Hargitay.
OK, so we confess, we're a little obsessed with Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and the character of Detective Benson is our absolute fave! So we had to pay homage to the actress that plays this bold and oh-so-beautiful officer of the law.
While many Law & Order enthusiasts already know, Hargitay has Throwback Thursday fabulosity in her blood. The star's mother was the late great Jayne Mansfield. Debuting on screen during the 1980's, Hargitay had many different roles before landing the one that she is best know for on Law & Order SVU.
Despite the serious drama of the show, Hargitay's beauty still shines bright in every scene. Season after season, whether rocking long, short, brunette, or blonde tresses, the star is simply stunning. Not only that, but she's confident about her looks and doesn't fear growing older.
"Plastic surgery is so creepy," Hargitay said. "I love that I'm not 20 and gorgeous. I'm aging like a fine wine and showing young women, look at what you can grow into."
So just what does this beauty use in her makeup bag? Hargitay is a lover of the simple classics. "I love pampering myself the way my mom and grandmother did. I always take baths. There's nothing better. And, I don't really wear makeup when I'm not on set. My dad hated it when I was growing up, and my husband doesn't like it either," the actress revealed in an interview.
"But I never leave the house without at least six tubes of lip-gloss. M.A.C. Lipglass and Chanel Glossimer in Glaze. Gloss makes me feel instantly polished and pulled together. Chanel soft-black liner to do a sexy, smoky eye for evening. Molton Brown lip liner never makes me look like I'm wearing liner."
And the secret to Hargitay's hair? The actress was quick to spill the beans on what keeps her tresses soft. "Feel my hair, it's so healthy," she said to InStyle magazine at a charity event once. "It's been blow dried every day for 13 years. But since I've been using Terax, when I blow it out it's so silky. It's my go-to." Try it $22.
We love officer Benson! Are you a fan of the show? Tell us with a note below!
