"Buffy" alum Sarah Michelle Gellar has finally opened up about her husband's condition following his spinal surgery, which the actor documented himself and uploaded updates of for fans to see on Twitter.
"Oh my god, you mean Freddie that's like 'learning how to walk' again?! I can't even," the 37-year-old actress told Us Weekly at the 4th Annual Santa's Secret Workshop at the Andaz Hotel in West Hollywood.
"I'm not joking. Our mail woman -- god bless her heart -- was like, 'I prayed for you Freddie and it worked, you're walking'. He's fine. He did have very serious surgery, there's no question, but his 'learning how to walk again' has been greatly exaggerated," she added.
Gellar's "learning to walk" remark comes from her 38-year-old husband's Twitter post on Nov. 26 that compares the said process to "learning jiu-jitsu," according to People.
The 37-year-old "Cruel Intentions" star continued to poke fun at her husband by explaining to the organiser of the grand event, Bill Horn, why Freddie Prinze Jr. wasn't able to make it.
"By the way, he was coming, he was in tears," she said. "He was like 'I promised Bill and Scout they're so good to me, I have to be there.' But he's just so tired. I mean he did have spine surgery... But he's not learning now to walk."
The proud mother of two - daughter Charlotte, 5, and son Ricky, 2 - then dished that she and her family can now enjoy the holidays differently since their kids have grown up a little bit.
"They're getting to the age where they understand the holidays [aren't] just about getting presents, that it's so much about giving back and being appreciative for what they can do," Gellar said.
"We packed up food for SOVA this year, and it made them understand that not all kids have Thanksgiving food. So it's been really special for me this year to merge my traditions which is gift giving and experiencing the holidays but also giving back," she explained.
Gellar then assured fans that her husband "is recovering" before revealing what the "Witches of Eas End" star will be doing for the holidays, reports E! News.
"He'll be cooking. I handle Thanksgiving, Christmas will be all him," she quipped.
