"The Flash" aired its eighth episode on Tuesday, showing Barry, Caitlin and Cisco welcoming Team Arrow into their midst as they all deal with the new metahuman threat, Ray Bivolo or The Rainbow Raider, Entertainment Weekly reported.
The CW debuted the first part of its "The Flash" and "Arrow" crossover, titled "Flash vs. Arrow."
The episode opens up with Barry running off to stop a bank robbery where everyone inside ended up as part of an angry, raging mob with red eyes. This was all due to the influence of the metahuman Ray, who can trigger feelings of aggression in people. While Barry was able to save a man from being shot, he was ultimately unable to capture Ray.
Barry eventually corners Ray at a storage facility and just as he was about to get shot, the Arrow arrives to help. Oliver a.k.a. the Arrow, Felicity and Diggle arrive at Central City because they need help finding a murderer who uses boomerangs as weapons, and Barry immediately agrees to help them. Joe and Dr. Wells aren't happy over Barry's involvement with Starling City's vigilante though, but Barry believes Oliver and even agrees to train with him.
However, Barry decides to deal with Ray alone instead of waiting for Oliver, and ends up getting the red eyes from Ray, affecting him without his knowledge, according to Comic Book.
Barry ends up bursting into fits of rage against Caitlin, using her dead fiancé Ronnie against her; Oliver, who he accuses of being jealous of Barry's skills; his boss at the police station Singh; Joe, who he demands to help him get his father out of prison; and finally Iris' boyfriend Eddie, who he attempts to attack.
Oliver arrives to stop Barry, which results in a heated fist fight between the two friends. It only ends when Dr. Wells and Joe cure Barry's rage thanks to a series of flashing lights. After some heartfelt apologies, the two teamed up to catch Ray once and for all.
Despite the happy ending over Ray's capture and making up with Oliver, Barry still has more to deal with. Eddie, who deemed The Flash as a dangerous entity, convinced their boss to build a police task force dedicated to stopping him; while Iris decided to cut all ties with The Flash after he attacked Eddie. The end of the episode also showed a glimpse of the presumed dead Ronnie bursting into flames.
The show will be continuing on with the second part of "The Flash" and "Arrow" crossover, this time over at "Arrow." Its eighth episode "The Brave and the Bold" will air on Wednesday at 8 p.m. on The CW.
