Scottish singer Susan Boyle has revealed she has found love for the first time at age 53, according to E! News.
Boyle, who rose to fame after auditioning for and wowing judges on "Britain's Got Talent" in 2009, opened up about her budding relationship with an American doctor, whom she met while touring in the US. The singer did not reveal the doctor's identity but said he was "the perfect gentleman" during their romantic date.
"I don't want to say any more about who he is right now as that would be unfair on him," Boyle told The Sun, quoted via Mirror. "All I'll say is we are around the same age and he was a very nice guy."
Boyle shared a bit about how their date went. "We just got talking in the hotel and I thought he seemed friendly enough," she said. "He invited me out for lunch the next day. We had a nice chat and spoke about lots of things including our careers."
She has kept mum about the status of the relationship, however, but hinted at her hope that things will flourish, saying: "It's very early days so we'll see what happens. I hope he comes over."
The news about the "Dreamed a Dream" singer's love life was confirmed by her representative, according to People.
While it's the first time Boyle dated, her life had not been devoid of men whom she cherishes. Speaking to Huffington Post UK, the singer revealed having a "soft spot" for Piers Morgan.
"I will always have a soft spot for Piersy Baby!" she said. "He has been a wonderful and constant support over the last five years. He is a kind and loyal man and whenever I see him in the UK or the USA he's still the same upbeat, happy Piers who's been a rock to me."
