Melbourne Fashion Festival on Wednesday had some entertaining moments - with models taking off their shoes as they strolled down the runway.

The L'Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival was held at Central Pier on the fifth day, presenting some of Australia's best and emerging designers - from Dion Lee, Gary Bigeni, Josh Goot, Therese Rawsthorne, Christopher Esber, Magdalena Velevska and Ellery.

There, lovely models in marvelous dresses started to take off their shoes one by one.

The point-toed platforms with narrowed toes and sky high stiletto heels caused several models to wobble several steps, according to The Sydney Morning Herald, and eventually removed their shoes.

It was the only way to avoid broken ankles or worse.

“I’m so disappointed,” said Graeme Lewsey, CEO of the festival.
“It shouldn’t have happened, but models know, if there’s the slightest problem, they have to remove (their shoes) for safety. If nothing else, it's showcased the fragility of live performances: when they do go without a hitch, they are marvels," Lewsey told the newspaper.

Some media took it as a runway "revolt" of models.
