Rihanna has called on Brad Pitt to introduce her for her performance at her first annual Diamond Ball to be held on Dec. 11 in Los Angeles, E! News reported.
The gala will be held in honor of the singer's grandparents, Clara and Lionel Brathwaite. The couple worked to serve the underprivileged communities all around the world and used the promotion health, education, arts and culture to help them improve their lives. The singer's grandmother, Clara, also spent year battling cancer, according to E! News.
All the proceeds from the Diamond Ball will benefit Rihanna's Clara Lionel Foundation and also provide the $2.4 million funds needed for The Clara Brathwaite Center for Oncology and Nuclear Medicine at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
Rihanna spoke about the decision to invite Pitt to her event, saying in a statement that "Brad Pitt is not only a phenomenal actor, but I admire him and am inspired by his philanthropic work," according to US Weekly.
Aside from Pitt, another celebrity who will be lending a hand to the singer and making an appearance is Jimmy Kimmel, who will also serve as host of the event.
"It is such an honor to have Jimmy Kimmel host this event," Rihanna said of Kimmel. "There is no one more hilarious to make the first annual Diamond Ball an incredible night. I'm blessed by his support."
Rihanna started her foundation in her home country of Barbados in 2012, donating $1.75 million to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in her grandmother's name, according to US Weekly.
600 and more guests consisting of celebrities, business executives, celebrities and personalities from the entertainment industry, and philanthropists have been invited to The Diamond Ball to be held at the 157-acre plot at The Vineyard in Beverly Hills.
At the event, there will be a live auction, dinner and an orchestra performance by Rihanna herself.
