Karl Lagerfeld worked a magic, turning Grand Palais of Paris into a crystal maze on Tuesday, for Chanel's Fall/Winter 2012-2013 Ready-To-Wear Collection.

Reminiscent of the 1980s movie Superman II, the fashion show was everywhere crystal - from models' eyebrows to the coat dresses, heels, amulets and shimmering mineral sand on the floor.
The entire space was filled with giant spears of mock-crystal.

"It's the new three-piece suit -- little skirt, little jacket and pants," Lagerfeld said of the collection. One-piece skirt jacket was styled on trousers, as dark colors dominated the creations.

Lagerfeld pointed to Czech cubism from the 1920s and 1930s as an impact for a series of wool coats and dresses with metallic breastplates or arm bands in diamond-shaped, coloured patterns, according to AFP.

“Paris is about layers, so I didn’t use any fur,” said the German designer.

Miranda Kerr, Joan Smalls and Anja Rubik were among the models walking down the runway.

Katy Perry and Alicia Keys were spotted watching the show.
"The shoes were my favorite -- crunchy with the crystal," Perry told AFP.
"There was a beautiful embroidered jumpsuit -- and the maxi coats," said Keys.
