Christian Dior displayed its autumn/winter 2012 collection in Paris Fashion Week on Friday.

Dior's runway was full of elegant and feminine looks, dominated by muted colors such as dove grey, dusty pink, teal and champagne.
Soft fabrics were used for skirts that flared out and came below the knee.
Leather and cashmere added a chic edge.

Creative director Bill Gaytten took his visual inspiration from Margot Fonteyn, one of the greatest ballerinas of all time.
"It's still very Christian Dior but cleaned up and still very elegant," Gaytten told reporters backstage.

The collection was "less graphic and more tonal" according to the designer, who took over John Galliano who was fired last year after his racist outburst A permanent successor has not yet been found.
