Teairra Mari has revealed how the idea of reuniting the "Love & Hip Hop" cast came about.
Bow Wow and Ice Cube's co-star in the 2010 film "Lottery Ticket" told HNGN she and Hazel E used to live together and her co-star in the VH1 reality show asked her to call Mona Scott-Young "and see if she wants to bring 'Love & Hip Hop' to Hollywood."
"We just put it all together and we listed all the people that we would like to see on there," Mari recalled, adding that half of those they listed are on the cast, which included her former boyfriend Ray J, Fizz, Masika Tucker and rapper Yung Berg.
Berg will not be able to return for the show's second season because she has been fired after being arrested for reportedly choking Tucker hours after taping the show's reunion special, according to Global Grind.
On the sixth episode of the show's first season, Mari sang a song with Berg titled "I Deserve," which will be released before 2015.
According to Mari, it was Hazel E who mentioned Ray J since she knew her history. She also said Hazel E was not doing "Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood" for herself because she did not even want to be a part of the reality show.
Mari said she and Ray J are "cordial" while she and Hazel E has not talked in a while "but there's a sisterhood there."
"She did push me into leading the pack and I appreciate her for that, that's why I was surprised we fell out," Mari said of Hazel E.
In another interview with Madame Noire, Mari commented on being portrayed as a violent person on "Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood."
"That's not all about who Teairra is," Mari said although she admitted she did not react in the best way.
Before "Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood," Mari starred in the 2013 film "The Dempsey Sisters" with Denyce Lawton, Lynn Whitfield, Antwon Tanner, Cymphonique Miller, MC Lyte and Valerie Pettiford among others.
