One Direction fans have been sent into a whirlwind of emotions after Harry Styles said in a recent interview that the gender of his partners does not matter to him.
In a recent interview with On Demand Entertainment, Styles, 20, and bandmate Liam Payne, 21, were asked to name four things that they look for in a girl.
In a probable attempt to put an end to undying gay rumors about him, Payne answered, "Female, it's a good trait."
Styles laughed and responded to Payne's answer, saying, "[It is] not that important."
The Worcestershire, England born recording artist then added that he is looking for someone who is basically "nice" and has a natural "sense of humor."
Rumors about Styles' sexuality have swirled since the band first rose to international stardom in 2010, according to Daily Mail.
And just last year, Styles was rumored to be in a relationship with Radio One DJ Nick Grimshaw, according to Evening Standard.
But the "Steal My Girl" singer denied that he is bisexual in an interview with GQ magazine last year. "Bisexual? Me? I don't think so. I'm pretty sure I'm not," he told the magazine, as quoted by The Mirror.
Styles also told GQ magazine at the time that he "didn't even know" that he was being linked to Grimshaw. "We're not dating, no. We're just friends," he said.
Styles, who has been a supporter of gay rights for several years now, was recently linked to writer Erin Foster, Daily Mail reported.
The hunky crooner also dated "The Xtra Factor" presenter Caroline Flack from November 2011 to January 2012, according to The Mirror.
Nine months after his split from Flack, Styles began dating Taylor Swift. However, the two broke up in January last year, according to Us Weekly.
He then dated Kendall Jenner. Their relationship lasted from November 2013 to February 2014, Hollywood Life noted.
