Robert Downey Jr. is now a father of three!
The 49-year-old actor, best known for his portrayal of Tony Stark in "Iron Man" and "Avengers" film series, welcomed his second child, a baby girl, with wife Susan in Los Angeles, People reported.
The couple's new bundle of joy joins their 2 1/2-year-old son Exton, and Downey's 21-year-old son Indio, whom he shares with ex-wife Deborah Falconer.
Downey and her wife's most recent public appearance was at the BAFTA Los Angeles Jaguar Britannia Awards Thursday, Oct. 30, where the Oscar-nominated actor paid a loving tribute to his then-heavily pregnant wife and soon-to-be-born daughter.
"It's just the uncertainty of how nowadays you have all these things where you think you have much more of an understanding of what you're going to get," said Downey while accepting his Stanley Kubrick Britannia Award for Excellence in Film, according to People. "And then this little soul lets herself be known to you, and it's just like: You don't know anything. It's great!"
"How is she still so darn pretty and functional and mood-stable?" he added after asking Susan to stand up for the audience. "The second pregnancy has been extraordinarily tough for me. Self-prescribed mandatory bed rest was of some benefit. At least my milk is finally coming in," he quipped.
Downey first hinted that he and his wife was expecting their second child via a vague tweet in July.
"Yo. Susan. Me. Baby. Girl. November. Scorpio?" he wrote on the microblogging site.
He then took to his Facebook page to confirm the news. "Um. I don't know if it's a 'man's world,' but I'm certain women run it. Susan and I are therefore delighted to announce we are expecting a baby. Girl. November. rdj," he wrote.
Downey was married to Falconer from 1992 to 2004. In August 2005, he tied the knot with Susan in a Jewish ceremony in Amagansett, New York, People reported.
In 2010, the "The Avengers: Age of Ultron" actor credited his wife for helping him kick his past drug addictions.
"The old saying is true - behind every good man there's an incredible woman," he told Ireland's Evening Herald. "I owe a huge amount - if not all - of my success to Susan. We make a great team, and all that luck I spoke about, that's Susan."
