"Harry Potter" star Daniel Radcliffe revealed his rapping skills with a performance of "Alphabet Aerobics" on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" Tuesday, TV Over Mind reported.
Radcliffe revealed that not only was he a big fan of rap music but that he also liked to rap. He was given the chance to do so on the show, and he showed off his skills in a rendition of Blackalicious' 1999 track "Alphabet Aerobics."
Host Jimmy Fallon started off by questioning 25-year-old Radcliffe's love for music, which eventually escalated into Radcliffe's impromptu rap performance, E! News claimed.
Radcliffe appeared on the show to promote his upcoming film "Horns" but after being asked about his love for music, he admitted that he was a big hip-hop fan. He said he was a big fan of and inspired by rapper Eminem.
"I think I was the first kid in my class to learn all the words to 'Real Slim Shady'," Radcliffe said. "I've always had kind of an obsession with memorizing complicated, lyrically intricate and fast songs, I guess."
After Fallon called "Alphabet Aerobics " one of the "trickiest, fastest songs" and presented Radcliffe with a microphone, the young actor readily took the stage.
Accompanied by the show's house band, The Roots, and with Fallon standing behind him and waving cue cards with letters on them, Radcliffe pulled off the performance without missing a single lyric of the gradually accelerating, A-to-Z song. He was given a standing ovation from the crowd after his performance.
The performance hit close to home for The Roots, who were part of the underground hip-hop movement of the mid- to late nineties which included Blackalicious, The Rolling Stone claimed. The Roots' drummer Questlove tweeted the duo of Blackalicious after the performance.
"Dear @realgiftofgab & @ChiefXcel make sure you and the entire @blackalicious_ fan base watches & dvr's #FallonTonight. trust. #!!!!!!!!" Thompson tweeted.
On the show, Radcliffe and Fallon also did vocal impersonations, with Radcliffe imitating a Texan and Fallon with a Cockney accent. Radcliffe also shared his desire to team up for a comedy film with his favorite wrestler Dwayne Johnson also known as The Rock.
Radcliffe's latest film "Horns" hits theaters Friday, Oct. 31.
"The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" airs weeknights at 11:35 p.m. on NBC.
