Beyoncé Knowles has decided to team up with British retailer Topshop to release a brand new line of streetwear in autumn 2015, WGNO reported.
Beyoncé and Sir Philip Green, the CEO of the multinational retailing company Arcadia Group which included Topshop in their roster, announced their plans to launch a new company together.
The project, listed as Parkwood TopShop Athletic, will be a new line that includes clothing, accessories and footwear fit for those who are into sports, dancing and fitness.
"We have been looking at this category as fashion inspired fitness develops and know that this is right in our customers' heartland," said Green.
Green was reportedly excited to work with "one of the most hard-working and talented people in the world," Daily Mail stated. He said creating a partnership with Beyoncé was "a unique opportunity."
"Being partners with Beyoncé and her team, who have the greatest creative energy and enthusiasm, is inspiring for all of the team at Topshop," he said.
Beyoncé shared that she was working hard with the Topshop development team to create and produce an exciting collection. She has long been a fan of the London-based retailer and was reportedly excited to participate in all aspects of this partnership.
"I could not think of a better partner as I continue to grow the Parkwood business," she said. "I have always loved Topshop for their fashion credentials and forward thinking."
This collaboration comes in the midst of the trend of activewear currently hitting the fashion scene, according to Forbes. This season, active- and streetwear has inspired pieces that appeared on fashion shows and catwalks.
Meanwhile, Tory Burch also announced an expansion into yoga, gold and other sporting apparel, while Karl Lagerfeld and Chanel released sweats for men and women. Nike has also hosted a runway show Wednesday featuring activewear, and Alexander Wang is releasing a collection of activewear for H&M.
Beyonce and Topshop's new line will be available online and in Topshop stores and other retailers in Autumn 2015.
