Kendra Wilkinson believes that her husband Hank Baskett is being set-up.
After listening to the leaked audio tapes of conversation between Baskett and transgender model Ava Sabrina London, the 29-year-old glamour model-turned-reality TV star claimed that the whole thing is nothing but a "straight set-up."
"If anybody's listening to this and thinking, 'Oh, he's guilty,' who's the one guilty? The one that's setting up this blackmail," Wilkinson told E! News. "That's the one who should be in jail right now."
Baskett, 32, has already gone to the FBI, claiming that London has blabbed to the press that they had an affair, illegally recorded their phone conversation and extorted him, TMZ reported.
Sources close to the former NFL player told the celebrity gossip site that Baskett acknowledges that he "hung out with her," but he claims that London secretly recorded a phone call between them, in which he pleads her not to reveal their relationship to the public because he is married man.
The tipsters added that Baskett's lawyer went to the FBI this week to complain that the recordings are illegal, and that London was demanding for $5,000 from his client in return for her silence.
Baskett's attorney is set go to court next week in an effort to secure London's iPhone records, which will greatly help his camp to establish the alleged extortion attempt.
After listening to the tapes herself, Wikinson said that she felt calmer than expected.
"I actually didn't even care. It was nothing," she told E! News of the tapes' content. "It didn't even do anything. It didn't make anything worse. It was just recycled crap."
She continued: "It was premeditated. I feel like celebrities right now have a big target on their heads and blackmail is to follow."
Last week, a source told People that "Kendra goes back and forth" in her decision to file for divorce.
But after listening to the tapes, Wilkinson has decided to give her relationship with Baskett a little bit more time.
"I'm not making a rash decision, divorcing or staying with him," she told E! News. "I'm trying to let things happen naturally, let things play out a little longer."
"At the end of the day, I don't want to be a stupid girl," Wilkinson told HuffPost Live on Oct. 6. "I don't want to be stupid, but I know Hank loves me...At the end of the day, I have to take things one step at a time and really figure things out. Our number one priority is making sure these two kids are raised with two parents, and we want to give them a great life."
