Khloe Kardashian wants closure.
The 30-year-old "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" filed for divorce from her estranged husband Lamar Odom in December 2013, but the two are still legally husband and wife because she has reportedly been unable to track down the 34-year-old professional basketball player to get him to sign the divorce papers.
"Khloe can't even get in touch with him right now," a source told Us Weekly of the former NBA star.
"He refuses to sign the divorce papers," added another tipster.
A friend of Odom told the celebrity and entertainment magazine that the athlete won't sign the papers because he is still hoping for a reconciliation. Unfortunately for him, it has been clear that Kardashian only wants to move on from their relationship since she started dating rapper French Montana. Kardashian and Montana dated for eight months until they broke up in September.
"[Kardashian] gets very emotional when [Odom] is doing bad things," a source told Us Weekly, as quoted by Hollywood Life. "There's a part of her that can't let go and wishes he could change, but she realizes he won't."
In July, Odom was dropped by the New York Knicks after he failed to meet the requirements of the team.
"Unfortunately, Lamar was unable to uphold the standards to return as an NBA player," the basketball team's president Phil Jackson said in a July 11 statement to E! News. "We found it necessary to free up the roster spot."
A source told Us Weekly at the time that Odom was not dedicated to getting back on the court. "Everyone was hoping that what went down with Khloe would see him rededicate himself to training and getting in shape for the season, but he seems to be only half in it," the tipster said in July.
Kardashian and Odom tied the knot on September 27, 2009 - exactly one month after they met at a party for Odom's teammate Metta World Peace, People reported. At that time, Odom was still a member of the Los Angeles Lakers.
Their marriage began to fall into pieces when Odom was arrested on a DUI charge and reportedly faced substance-abuse issues, during the 2013 offseason.
On the July 13 episode of "Keeping Up With the Kardashians," Kardashian revealed that she knew Odom cheated on her while they were still together.
