Brantley Gilbert is engaged again!
The 29-year-old country music artist revealed on the syndicated country radio program "The Bobby Bones Show" Tuesday morning, Oct. 21, that he is set to wed a Georgia native that he has known for a decade.
"It was one of those things that was on and off for few years - mostly on - and then she was the one that got away for about five years," said Gilbert, as quoted by People. "It came back around and I've never been happier. This little one, she's the one, and I'm a pretty stoked dude. I'm pretty excited to say the least."
The "Bottoms Up" hitmaker, who is in the middle of his "Let It Ride" tour, added that his new fiancée has been a longtime inspiration in his music.
"You'll hear her in most of my songs," said the Jefferson, Georgia-born recording artist. He said that his 2012 song "More than Miles," which have the lyrics "Cause that girl's in every song I sing/She's in every song I write/And that six string ridin' in her seat/Won't keep me warm tonight," is about his new fiancée. He also wrote "You Don't Know Her Like I Do" about her as well, according to E! News.
When asked if they have already set a wedding date, Gilbert said: "We're looking towards the end of June."
And though Gilbert did not reveal the identity of her bride-to-be, he did say that she is a teacher.
"[She] teaches schools about a mile up the road from my house and it's an awesome thing," he said. "She loves to teach."
This is Gilbert's second engagement. He was previously set to tie the knot with fellow country singer and "One Tree Hill" alum Jana Kramer. He popped the question to Kramer in January 2013, but the two never made it down the aisle, as they broke up in August of that year, Hollywood Life reported.
Gilbert opened up about his split from Kramer earlier this year on 100.7 The Wolf.
"I'll be completely honest with you. That little girl's wonderful," he said of Kramer, as quoted by Hollywood Life. "I love her to death. I care about her. She's going to make somebody a wonderful, wonderful wife, and a wonderful, wonderful mother. But between she and I, the situation does exist where it just didn't work. And that's the case. Some things happened and it didn't work out. But we still talk."
