Last month, Kris Jenner and her estranged husband Bruce Jenner filed for divorce 11 months after they announced that they were ending their 22-year-marriage. And during a recent appearance on "The Today Show," the 58-year-old Kardashian-Jenner family matriarch revealed that her decision to legally separate from Bruce is for the betterment of their children and grandchildren.
While promoting her new book, "The Kitchen with Kris: A Kollection of Kardashian Jenner Family Favorites," Kris was asked by Hoda Kotb about her decision to get a divorce, and in response, she said, "I did it for the kids this time, and Bruce and I were getting a divorce. He's a great guy but I just did it for the kids and the grandkids."
"You know, I think that at some point in your life, you have to make a decision to do what's right for your family and the kids, and I think that we decided to be grownups and we decided we're better apart than we are together, but we're still really good friends," added Kris, as quoted by Hollywood Life.
Last week, Bruce has reportedly moved on from his relationship with Kris and is already dating Kris' former longtime best friend Ronda Kamihira.
Sources close to the Jenner clan told TMZ that Kris is "extremely upset" that her estranged husband is hooking up with her pal, a 51-year-old divorced woman who has two children. "It really stings because Ronda never told Kris she started seeing Bruce," the tipster said.
"Kris is devastated," another source told People. "This was her former assistant and best friend of 20 years." The insider added that Kris "is just shocked" by the news. "She's so sad and completely heartbroken."
But during her appearance on "The Today Show," Kris said that she doesn't care who Bruce goes out with. "I just want him to be happy. I don't care who he goes out with and I don't know who he's dating," she said.
"He doesn't like check in with me and give me a play by play, but it's his life, and you just want the guy to be happy," she explained to Hoda, as quoted by E! News. "You know, he's still the father of two of my children. We're friends."
Hoda also boldly asked Kris about the undying rumors claiming that Bruce is "developing into a woman."
"It's silly," Kris responded with a laugh. "They've been saying that since the '70s. You'd think it'd be cooked by now, I don't know-but [that storyline] keeps continuing....They keep regurgitating the same old stuff."
