On the red carpet for the premiere of his film "Fury" in Washington D.C., Brad Pitt said he had sent George Clooney and Amal Clooney, neé Alamuddin, a gift prior to their wedding.
"I'm all right. I'm covered," Pitt told Extra.
On the same evening, however, Pitt's statements do not seem to add up.
In another interview with Access Hollywood, the 50-year-old actor and father of six admitted he "still owes him something" referring to his "Ocean's Eleven" co-actor.
He added that there is no problem with that because based on tradition, he has up to one year to give a gift to the bride and groom.
After obtaining marriage licences in the United Kingdom on Aug. 7, Clooney and Alamuddin were officially married by the former's pal Walter Veltroni at the Italian palace Ca' Farsetti on Sept. 27, ABC News reported.
"Well, we are filming in Malta right now," Pitt explained why he was not able to attend Clooney's wedding but clarified he is good with him.
On Oct. 17, Friday, Pitt had another interview with David Muir on "ABC News," where he talked about his recent film "Fury" and his status as a newlywed husband.
Describing their wedding as "amazing," Pitt said there is an "added security" that comes with being married to Angelina Jolie, who is also the director of his upcoming film "By The Sea."
With their children Maddox, 13, Pax, 10, Zahara, 9, Shiloh, 8 and twins Knox and Viviene, 6, Pitt and Jolie got married on Aug. 23 at their Chateau Miraval estate in France, which their rep was "very much a family affair."
Pitt also told Muir he brought his sons Maddox and Knox, who was five then, on the set of "Fury."
According to Pitt, Knox "has no concept of war or the tank, but he fell in love with it immediately" while his oldest son Maddox, a World War II buff, could tell "any tank, any bomber."
