Norman Reedus, who plays Daryl Dixon on "The Walking Dead," recently opened up about his daily routine while filming the hit AMC zombie show.

The 45-year-old actor shared that he starts his day practicing his crossbow shooting skills.

"I get up every morning in my place outside Atlanta, I make an espresso and I walk outside in my backyard in my underwear. I shoot my compound bow at a bunch of targets, then I get on my motorcycle and go to the studio," Reedus told Toronto Star in a recent phone interview.

The "Boondocks Saints" actor revealed at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre in August that he practices crossbow shooting regularly in order to make his portrayal of Daryl more believable.

"I had targets set up on my trees. I'd have a coffee and I'd shoot the targets. Sometimes I'd miss and they'd stick in the trees... All the trees around the back of my house have arrows sticking out of them," he said at the time according to Comic Book Resources.

While Reedus has no problem getting to the set each day, the hunky actor revealed that going home after the shoot can be very difficult for him and his co-stars.

"My whole body hurts at the end of the day. So does everybody else's. You come home, you count your bruises, you count your cuts and you kind of think of them as war wounds," he revealed.

The "Silent Hills" star added that stuff can get more difficult if he needs to travel in a hurry and go straight from the set to the airport.

"I've boarded many planes at the Atlanta airport with blood on my neck," shared the father of one. "It's a good thing the security guards all watch the show and know who I am. I'll tell you one thing, though: nobody ever tries to pick a fight with me."

In the same phone interview, Reedus said that he has no problem with the fact that his "The Walking Dead" character is being promoted as Rick's (Andrew Lincoln) right-hand man.

"I'm very proud to be Robin to his Batman," Reedus said. "Andy's kind of my BFF on the set."

Since "The Walking Dead" turned out to be a massive hit, the bromance between the two actors has also become very much alive.

Last year at Walker Stalker Con in Atlanta, Lincoln said that working with Reedus was "obviously" his most favorite part of his "The Walking Dead" experience, jokingly adding that it takes him "half an hour to start work in the morning" because he just scream [like a fan girl] at Reedus, Wetpaint reported.

Also last year, Reedus told AMC via Comicbook.com that he would like to be stuck with Rick in an actual zombie apocalypse just because he has an obvious crush on Lincoln.
