Iggy Azalea has defended herself on Instagram after she was caught on camera getting into a fight with paparazzi at a California grocery store.
The controversial video that hit the Internet late last week shows the 24-year-old Australian rapper and a female friend getting into a heated argument with a male paparazzo, who was allegedly taking pictures of the recording artist while she and her pal was trying to do some peaceful late night shopping together, Hot New Hip Hop reported.
At one point in the clip, the rapper's pissed off friend spit on the man, causing the person behind the camera to say that Azalea's friend assaulted the male paparazzo. The man then hyperbolically suggested that he may have contracted AIDS or Ebola virus from the saliva, to which Azalea replied: "I hope you have Ebola, I hope you die. You're a f-king c-t."
The "Bang Bang" rapper then lost her temper and attempted to ram the photographer with a grocery cart. Good thing, her friend pulled the trolley away just in time before it can make contact.
As she headed back to her car, Azalea furiously exclaimed: "You're invading my life! You're in the store when I'm trying to buy eggs. Being a musician doesn't give you the right to sneak into a supermarket and take photographs of somebody buying eggs. That's not a public space, it's private. You're inside a store taking pictures of people. It's not OK. It's not cute. And next time, I will have people with me that will do something to remove you."
The male paparazzo, on the other hand, insisted that being followed by photographers comes with popularity.
On Instagram, Azalea explained her side of the story, writing: "Something is only 'the way it is' for as long as one ALLOWS it to be. What I'm comfortable consenting a paparazzi do doesn't require anyone's opinion but my own. I don't see why that's hard for some to fathom. Judge me for spazzing if you like but you only saw the 30sec aftermath which was classy in comparison to what he said to us inside the grocery store where we discovered him lying on the floor after we had repeatedly & politely asked him to leave multiple locations during the course of the day."
But Azalea clarified that she doesn't hate paparazzi in general. "I don't hate paps, just the really aggressive ones," she explained. "I only treated him the way he treated me all day. Fair is fair playboys and girls. Ps. Someone in the hotel room above me is getting pounded I can hear it."
The rapper's statement was accompanied by a photo of He-Man.
Meanwhile, Azalea leads this year's American Music Awards with six nominations, including nods in the Artist of the Year and Single of the Year categories, Rolling Stone reported.
