So the rumors have been confirmed; Karlie Kloss is not going to walk at New York Fashion Week this season, at all.

After a swirl of rumors that the supermodel would be missing in NYFW, Kloss herself announced her absence on Twitter.

"No one is more bummed than me to be missing out on all of the #NYFW fun – sending all my love to NYC! xx" she tweeted Thursday night.

Alina Cho of CNN tweeted last night, "HEARING: @karliekloss cancelled all catwalk appearances in NY for a big opportunity ... " leaving us to wonder what the 19-year old ditched NY's most fashion-crazed week for.
If it is indeed an opportunity, then it could only mean a major European exclusive.

It was announced that Kloss' absence is due to an "engagement that has come up" according to Kloss' spokesperson, but he also said that it’s "very likely" for the most-watched supermodel to appear in Milan and Paris.

New York is missing your elegance, Karlie!

Kloss calls New York City home, according Vogue Australia. Surprisingly, fashion was once low priority to the ballerina. "I was doing sports and dance, I couldn't have really cared less about what I was wearing," Kloss told the magazine.
