"Teen Wolf" Season 5 is not likely to premiere until June next year, but fans can now expect more supernatural drama in Beacon Hills even after that installment.
In a phone interview with myFanbase, Linden Ashby, who plays Sheriff Stilinski on the hit MTV show, revealed that there's a huge possibility that the network will order a sixth season for "Teen Wolf."
When asked if he sees the series going beyond Season 5, Ashby, 54, answered: "I think so. I think there's a good shot of that."
"I know that people are already talking about it at the network so we'll have to wait and see on that but I think there are definitely conversations about going beyond Season 5," the "Mortal Kombat" actor added.
Ashby also commended the performances of the two "Teen Wolf" newcomers.
"The young cast that's coming in now, Dylan Sprayberry (Liam Dunbar) and Khylin Rhambo (Mason), they're great!" he said. "It's so amazing to me, you know Dylan Sprayberry came out to surf with me a couple of weeks ago and he's such a good kid and he's a kid! I mean he's 16 years old and you forget the energy and the dynamics and the mindset of a real 16 year old. It's just beautiful! It's limitless energy and just a whole different kettle of fish. I think that they're a great addition to the show."
Sprayberry, who joined the show early in the fourth season, was promoted to series regular last July for the upcoming fifth installment, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
And while Rhambo is believed to remain as a recurring character, executive producer Russell Mulcahy told TVLine last month that fans will see more of him in Season 5 most especially now that his character is no longer a stranger to the secrets of Beacon Hills.
Mulcahy said that Mason's story arc will now be somehow similar to that of Sheriff Stilinski's in the early installments of the show."Throughout the seasons, he went from being a regular sheriff in Beacon Hills to finally knowing about werewolves, lizard men, witches and whatever else. So his [Mason's] eyes have definitely been opened," Mulcahy said.
MTV renewed "Teen Wolf" for a 20-episode fifth season last July, and like the third season, it will be split into two parts.
