Victor Cruz is about to salsa his way into fashion.

The salsa hero who just finished Giants' Super Bowl victory parade cut the ribbon to kick off New York Fashion Week at Lincoln Center on Wednesday.

“Um, excuse my throat—I kinda lost my voice at the parade,” Cruz said before cutting the ribbon.

“It still hasn’t even sunk in," the 25-year-old wide receiver commented on the Super Bowl win.
"I’ve been going to everything, doing the parade and all, but it still hasn’t really sunk in. We’ve just been taking every day as it comes.”

Cruz was joined by Stephanie Winston-Wolkoff, Kate Upton and Naeem Khan, among others.

"Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week at Lincoln Center is internationally recognized as the premier industry event to showcase cutting-edge fashion," said Stephanie Winston Wolkoff, Director, Fashion at Lincoln Center. "We're excited to open our doors and show the world all the innovative new designs that will hit the runways this season."

"It's an honor to be here to help kick off Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York," Cruz said. "It's been quite an incredible week for the City—our Super Bowl win, the great homecoming parade yesterday, and now the beginning of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. I'm very grateful to my fans that came out to support us yesterday and today and looking forward to checking out some shows this week."

As we've discovered recently, Cruz's passion for fashion has been proven - he even has a clothing line of his own, called "Young Whales."

Young Whales, men's clothing line currently selling t-shirts and sweatshirts ranging from $30 to $60, was launched with Cruz' fellow Giants rookie Nate Collins in 2010. Agreeing that designer t-shirts were too expensive, the fashion pioneers decided to create baseball-style shirts and hoodies, according to The Post Game.

New York's spring 2012 is where football and fashion meet. And Victor Cruz is surely the star of both.
