"Dallas" star Josh Henderson has revealed he wrote the original track titled "I See You" for a particular scene in the finale of the TNT series' third season.

"I wrote it about John Ross' storyline, about the ghost of J.R. and how he's trying to escape him. Everyone says he's just like his father, and he knows it's true. I can't wait for people to see what I've been up to on the music side," Henderson told TVLine referring to his role in "Dallas."

Henderson added, "For me, it's a really exciting night."

Before he became known for his role as John Ross Ewing in the "Dallas" reboot, Henderson was one of the winners of The WB Television Network's 2001 singing contest show "Popstars 2" to form the pop group Scene 23.

On the big screen, Henderson's most recent project is "Swelter," in which he stars opposite action star Jean-Claude Van Damme and Alfred Molina.

Prior to the two-part finale of "Dallas," Henderson hinted they "won't all make it out alive" and "nearly every character is in danger all at once" for the first time as the stakes "have never been higher" on the season finale, which he described as the biggest episode they have done yet.

"John Ross really does love Pamela," Henderson explained referring to his character and the character played by Julie Gonzalo. "He knows he screwed up. In the finale, he's thinking, 'How can I save my marriage? How can I save my family? How can I be a hero?'"

A week after the season finale, TNT announced "Dallas" will not be renewed for a fourth season, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

"We are extremely proud of the series, which defied expectations by standing as a worthy continuation of the Ewing saga. We want to thank everyone involved with the show, from the extraordinary cast to the impeccable production team, led by the show's creative forces, Cynthia Cidre and Mike Robin," a TNT representative said in a statement.

The statement also thanked the people of Dallas "for their warm and generous hospitality during the production of the series."

In February, the third season of "Dallas" opened with 2.7 million viewers and dropped to 2.0 million viewers in the opening of the season's second part in August, Deadline reported.

"Dallas" also starred "Desperate Housewives" actor Jesse Metcalfe, "Fast And Furious 7" actress Jordana Brewster, "Scandal" actress Brenda Strong, Patrick Duffy, Linda Gray, Mitch Pileggi, Emma Bell and Kevin Page among others.
