Samsung unveiled a new monitor that will enhance the gaming experience of consumers, according to PC Mag.
The company's latest product, the S27D590CS features a 27-inch curved surface. The display screen has a 16:9 aspect ratio and sports a 178-degree viewing angle. It also has a 1920x1080 resolution scale and has a dimension of 24.54x14.40x2.34 inches.
The entire monitor weighs at about 12 pounds and is supported by a curved T-shaped stand. Through the ports on the monitor, the S27D590CS can be connected to Mac devices and PCs.
It also comes with an HDMI cable for game consoles as well as Blu-ray players.
According to Samsung, the curved feature of the monitor is designed to enhance the immersive experience of video games, Tech Power Up reported.
"The SD590C has a curved design that was carefully engineered to draw you into the display and truly make you feel a part of the content," Ron Gazzolla, Samsung Electronics America's vice president of marketing said.
For a truly immersive experience, several monitors can be placed side by side through extra graphics cards.
In addition to its curved surface, the monitor has several features primarily designed for gaming. Its Game Mode, for example, detects changes in the scenes of games and automatically adjusts the screen's settings to enhance the color, according to Business Wire.
"With Game Mode, users can see all the action at all times, even in the darkest scenes," Samsung said. "The curved screen makes the action more lifelike than ever, plunging users into a gaming experience so exhilarating it will keep them at the edge of their seat."
Aside from Game Mode, the product's Game Boost improves the audio quality of games.
Samsung's curved gaming monitor will be made available in the U.S. starting on Oct. 1 of this year. Its retail price will be at $429.99.
