Have you tried dry brushing your skin after reading our tutorial on how to help get skin tight, right, and radiant? What are you waiting for?
Dry brushing is a great way to exfoliate skin and its super easy to try. This popular spa technique works to help minimize the appearance of saddle bag skin, a.k.a the dresed cellulite, by sloughing away dry flaky skin cells to reveal the more radiant ones underneath.
This dry version of exfoliation can improve the look of your skin tone, and in addition it helps a lot with ingrown hairs. Now for some more do's and don'ts!
Don't dry brush on the face and chest. Avoid any sensitive areas, cuts, abrasions and sunburns.
Do always opt for a natural bristle brush (cactus/agave bristle is ideal).
Don't use synthetic brushes. Brush bristles should be firm to the touch but not hard. Often a brush without a handle is easier to use especially on those hard to reach spots.
Do clean your dry brush weekly with a spray mist of natural antiseptic oils like Tea Tree, Lavender or Eucalyptus (4-5 drops of the oil immersed and shaken into a distilled water spray pack). If you care for your brush, it will last a lifetime.
Do dry brush daily (should only take about 5-10 minutes) and take a shower to wash away dry flaky residue.
Do apply your favorite lotion showering apply your favorite firming moisturizing lotion to enhance the radiance and appearance of your skin.
Our personal favorites to compliment this regimen are the BioElixia BodyShaper Firming Toning Body Lotion ($25) and BioElixia BodyShaper Cellulite Contour Crème ($50). Both formulas are mixed with the super-moisturising properties of Aloe Vera, Shea Butter and Passionfruit Seed Oil, so these all-over moisturizers leave skin hydrated and looking visibly firm.
The LipoLotion, by Measureable Difference includes massaging applicator to help enhance product application and the formula's performance. And FatGirlSSlim Firming Cream features encapsulated caffeine molecules to ensure targeted delivery of a smoother appearance to those pesky problem areas.
