Former Flipmode Squad member Rah Digga recently slammed Iggy Azalea for not being hip-hop enough.
In an interview with ThisIs50's Gossip Viv, Rah Digga stressed that Azalea's type of music confuses her, according to E! News.
"Iggy Azalea, I can't really get into her. Because it's just not real to me. There is a white girl from Australia that spits in an Australian accent, and her name is Chelsea Jane. That I can get into. Teach me Australian hip-hop culture. Don't come to America and try to convince me that you're Gangsta Boo... We're not going to believe you if you're trying to convince us that you're out here trap shooting."
"That's the problem. They're too many passes being given. When did it become wrong to call out people that don't write their own rhymes? When did that become a crime in hip-hop? Hip-hop is a representative of this - to inform and empower inner city youth. I'm fine with anybody's race, creed or color participating, but don't ever forget what it was created for in the first place," she added.
Meanwhile, the "Fancy" singer definitely heard what Rah Digga was saying and she has some words of her to fire back at her, Hip Hop DX noted.
On Thursday, the "Black Widow" songstress dissed the rapper via Twitter, New York Post's Page Six reported.
"I honestly don't really mind if I'm described as rap or pop. My passion is purely making music and entertaining. It's definitely funny seeing ppl get so emotional over it all. What does it matter? Music is music and many enjoy mine, no need to feel upset," Iggy tweeted.
The "Booty" rapper also replied to fan's tweet and said, "@Listen2Kevin end of the day I have a massive publishing deal based on the fact I write and collect checks which everyone seems to ignore. Every female rapper gets accused of not writing, and that's fine. I just find it disappointing to see it come from other women, especially ones who don't me or anyone around me. It's actually sad. Crabs in a bucket syndrome."
