"Hunger Games" star Elizabeth Banks revealed what moviegoers can expect in the upcoming "Pitch Perfect 2" during an interview with Yahoo.

Aside from starring in the first film, the actress also produced it. For the sequel, Banks added the role of director to her list of responsibilities.

According to Banks, "Pitch Perfect 2" will feature the Bellas, composed of main actresses Anna Kendrick, Britanny Snow, Rebel Wilson and Anna Camp as they enter their last years of being part of an all-girl a cappella group.

Despite revealing the major plotline, the actress-director did not say if Kendrick's character, Beca, and Skylar Astin's Jesse will still be together in the sequel, Film Fad reported.

"I won't say anything about that relationship, but the girls are now graduating seniors," Banks said.

"They're coming to the end of their time as Bellas and figuring out how to sort of leave the next and the comfort of each other's friendship and figure out what they're going to do with the rest of their lives," she added.

Banks also confirmed that real-life a cappella groups will make an appearance in the film such as Texas-based Pentatonix. For her, the inclusion of such groups in "Pitch Perfect 2" is a way for the film series to pay tribute to the world of a cappella, according to We Got This Covered.

"Some great, true a cappella groups like Pentatonix and the Filharmonic, Penn Masala, I can confirm are all in the movie and they're amazing," the director said.

"They all do their own singing and dancing," Banks added. "It's all about authenticity in the a cappella world. We really want to honor that and honor the people who are really doing it out there who we're inspired by when we make the movie."

As to her new role as director, Banks said her years of being an actress helped prepare her for her new responsibilities.

"It was pretty clear I was the boss during prep," she said. "My expectations for working with actors comes from my many, many years working with many, many different actors, so I think I actually had a leg up being an actor myself."

"I know all the tricks and hopefully, I was helpful to my fellow actors," Banks added.

"Pitch Perfect 2" is scheduled to premiere on May 15 of next year.
