Singers Avril Lavigne and Chad Kroeger are reportedly headed for a divorce just after a year of marriage.

"It's over," an insider told Us Weekly. "He has been going around L.A. telling people that they are divorcing."

The punk-pop princess and the Nickelback frontman reportedly have been "fighting a lot" and were "having a lot of issues," thus they have decided to split

"The main issue is this: When they met, they were in work mode. They were doing a collaboration and that's where the attraction stemmed from. She was in the studio and he was producing her. She was also coming off some bad relationships where she didn't really feel appreciated as an artist. She felt she and Chad connected on that level," another source close to the pair told E! News.

The source went to add that since the album wasn't as successful as the couple had hoped, "they're finding that they're not seeing eye to eye on a lot of things."

Just in July, the "Hello Kitty" singer gushed on Twitter about the 17-carat emerald-cut diamond ring that her 39-year-old husband gifted her for their anniversary.

On Aug. 30 however, the 29-year-old was spotted sans wedding ring as she left the Chateau Marmont with friends. Her tweet about the ring was also mysteriously deleted from her account, Daily Mail has learned.

But while, it may sound that a divorce is inevitable between the two, the source from E! added: "I think for now they're going to try to work it out." According to the insider, divorce is just the couple's last resort if everything else fails.

Lavigne, who was previously married to Sum 41 singer Deryck Whibley (2006-2010), got engaged to Kroeger in August 2012. They tied the knot in an intimate ceremony at the Château de la Napoule on the French Riviera in July 2013.
